This was my second DENSI, VT being my first. Vermont was an eye opener. So much input overload since I had no idea what I was getting myself into. 2014, was different. All I wanted this year was to return to DENSI and I worked for two months on the video and the lessons in it. It was such an honor to get selected and it was all I could think about for the upcoming weeks before the event. Once I was there, I felt home, there were so many people that remembered me and my name. I was beside myself. Such welcoming, exciting people and I just wanted to follow so many of them around to learn from them.
This year was all about fine tuning what I learned last year. I focused on what people were showing, telling, displaying about their tools / ideas. I walked away with a stronger knowledge and understanding about green screening, presentations, PBL, and more.
However, what I was most happiest with was the stronger connections I made this year. The first year was very fast paced and new, and now that I have seen these people twice and online all year, I feel closer and more part of this fantastic community. I know how to maintain communication with them better, how to use social media better and the best part, be able to contribute.
It really is an honor to be among such great educators and specialists. Thank you Porter for everything.
